Product Description
The Drillco 1035N series reduced-shank drill bit is made from nitride-treated high-speed steel with a black and gold oxide finish and has a 135-degree split point for drilling stainless steel and other hard metals. The reduced shank drill bit, also called a Silver and Deming drill bit, has a shank that is smaller in diameter than its shaft, permitting drilling with a 1/2" drill chuck. A heavy duty nitride treatment on high-speed steel (HSS) provides hardness for wear resistance, and the combined black and gold oxide finish resists corrosion and increases the hardness of the drill bit for additional wear resistance. The self-centering 135-degree split point penetrates hard material without a pilot hole and produces smaller chips that reduce clogging compared to a 118-degree point. The round shank accommodates most drill chucks. The drill bit conforms to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) specifications.

Long length twist drill bits (also called taper length) are a little longer than jobber length, allowing for deeper holes and longer reach. Extra-long length twist drill bits (also called extension) are longer than long length twist drill bits for greater reach or for drilling deeper holes.
